PROTEST AND GORGE.
Born from a reactionary backlash to the ‘holier than thou’ picket boarding of the well-greased food industry, Pic-nik emerged in 2016 whispering another tale, the story of an anti-food food journal. Currently gathering content for its first printed zine, Pic-nik’s online presence shares its progress, featuring community voices, sharp words and food.
DULLED AND STARVED.
Through the voices and words of ‘real’ people, un-apologetically Pic-nik unearths a social commentary on how food is consumed behind closed doors. Shying away from the populous message that spreads itself across glossy magazines, from the healthy ‘how to eat’ diction of the modern day, Pic-nik is uncensored and reactionary.
SLUTTY CAKE HOLE.
Because we all eat, and what we want, Pic-nik captures everyday stories, incriminating habits and plain good practice, all balled up and regurgitated with a strong visual narrative. If you have a food story, a knack for telling a good yarn or are a keen image maker, an expressive writer, we want to hear your voice, the only pre-qualification is that you eat.
